2024 WVAO CME Conference

Dr. Jayant Pinto, University of Chicago, shared information Friday night on sustained control in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps. Pinto also gave a talk on environmental influences on the nose on Saturday morning.

Dr. Ron WIlkinson highlighted the life and contributions of Dr. Tom Sporck, for whom an annual memorial lecture has been named.

Dr. Robert Ferris, UNC Chapel Hill, gave the inaugural memorial lecture on approaches to defining optimal treatment intensity for good prognosis of head and neck cancer.

Drs. Eric Bailey, Steven Coutras and Justin Douglas were panelists discussing immunotherapy in the current allergy practices.

Dr. Robert Ferris also presented a talk on immunotherapy for locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.

The "other" Dr. Ferris, Laura, also of UNC Chapel Hill, presented on management of non-melanoma skin cancer on Saturday.

Dr. Meghan Turner moderated a panel with Drs. Jeffson Chung and Robert Ferris on head and neck cancers.

Dr. Scott Roof of Mount Sinai in New York discussed utilization of HPV circulating tumor DNA in HPV-associated oropharyngeal cancer.

Dr. Helene Dabbous opened Sunday morning with a discussion of comparisons, safety and patients outcomes in intracapsular vs extracapsular tonsillectomies.

Dr. Steven Coutras reviewed adenoidectomy techniques on Sunday morning.

Dr. Michael Squires (AuD) shared current updates in hearing aid technology.

Following a presentation by Dr. Meghan Turner, "TORSable", Dr. Johnathan Castano moderated a panel of pediatric case presentations with Dr. Dabbous and Hussein Jaffal.

The final conference presentation was a legislative and advocacy update by Dr. Scott Gibbs.

WVAO President Dr. Brian Kellermeyer presented Dr. Sharon Tomaski with the door prize from the weekend.

Attendees enjoyed time at Friday night's cocktail reception with our industry partners.

Saturday's conctail reception offered an additional opportunity for physicians and industry partners to visit.

We want to thank all of our industry partners for their time to visit with our attendees.

There was even time for new and old friends to gather including, from left, Dr. Laura Ferris, Lynnda Blane, Dr. Sharon Tomaski and Dr. Patricia Murphy.
